Swiss Friends of Oxford University (SFOU) was founded in 2017 to make it easier and more tax-efficient for Swiss-resident taxpayers to donate to the University and its colleges and departments.
At least 50% of SFOU membership fees will be allocated to a special scholarship fund for Swiss residents studying at the University of Oxford. The rest of the fees will assist with the administration costs of the Association.
In the short term, the goal is to support current Swiss Oxford University students to cover their life expenses. In the long term, SFOU aims to fully fund a scholarship for a Swiss national to study at the University of Oxford.
The Berrow Society was founded by Berrow Foundation Scholars in Geneva on 23 December 1999. It is a non-profit association under Swiss Law.
The principal goal is to promote contacts between past, present and potential future beneficiaries of the Berrow Foundation Scholarship and the Berrow Foundation Lord Florey Scholarship and to encourage networking between the Society’s members. Furthermore, the Society disseminates information about the Scholarships to prospective candidates. Information sessions are organised by members of the Society in every eligible Swiss academic institution on a yearly basis. In line with the spirit of these Scholarships, the Berrow Society aims at furthering Anglo-Swiss relations, in particular with regard to the University of Oxford and Lincoln College.
