Reception in Lincoln College :
Alain Berset, President of the Swiss Confederation

It was an immense pleasure to welcome the President of the Swiss Confederation Alain Berset in the beautiful Lincoln College MCR. After taking some time to talk with students, the President even showed us his selfie skills ! Thanks to everyone for coming !

On the following morning, the President then gave an inspiring speech at the Blavatnik School of Government, entitled “How can democracy deal with inequality”: Photo credits : Nina Mangold

Swiss movie night :
‘Der grosse Sommer’ by Stefan Jäger

We were delighted to welcome Swiss film maker Stefan Jäger, who presented one of his latest movies, ‘Der grosse Sommer’ in St Peter’s College. After the screening, Mr. Jäger engaged in a Q&A session with the attendance, which resulted in a very interactive and personal event.

Speaker event :
Alexandre Fasel, Swiss Ambassador to the UK

We were extremely grateful that our guest, Swiss Ambassador to the UK Alexandre Fasel, found some time in his busy schedule to come to Oxford. Ambassador Fasel, a former Oxford University student himself, gave an insightful speech entitled ‘Brexit — what does it mean for Switzerland ?’. The event was held in Lincoln College, whose continuous support to the Society is very much appreciated, and was followed by a drinks session where the attendance had a chance to interact personally with the Ambassador.
